30% shrinkage of my castor seems quite high to me.

I’m not really impressed with that.

It’d being interesting to see what you have left when alls said and done. Will there be another shrinkage charge at point of sale? How much more for commission? Then exchange rste loss.. unless you get a USD cheque that ideally goes into a USD bank account so the bank doesnt rip you off.

But dont be sad Dave, or annoyed.. just because take yourself to the west coast and go fishing and get a cooler full of salmon and a second one full of bottomfish

It won’t be 18%.

What were you paying for castor, Marty? I wouldn’t mind selling for 20% less if it means not selling for 30% less.

I would assume All that massive amount of our fur that did not sell in first auction would be entered for August sale at same grades.

Yes, my coyote pelts from last auction are listed below the ones that I sent in for this one. Same grades.

If you are trying to figure out which pelts are which, for pelts in the last auction the stock # coincides with the lotting number from the last sale but it has a 98 in front of it.

Happy with the grade on our castor only 1 oz graded #3 and the rest was a 50 / 50 split for grade 1 and 2, hopefully prices hold like the March sale. All my coyotes that had no grade from the first sale now have a grade and only one slt in the lot. So lets now have a good sale for everyone

The 159 numbered lots are not in the sales catalogue, so the trapping partner phoned about this and was told that they have all been sold as a private treaties. Now the news is you are looking at a 50 - 60 US avg on those coyotes.
Phone fur harvesters and see how you did or did not do. It does not showing up in your account but from what we have been told they are all sold.

All my coyotes are 159, hopefully they stuck close to what their value was a few months ago. Seems weird to let them go cheap right before an auction if that's what did happen.

None of my 159 coyote lots show in the catalogue. Someone posted a picture of a printout indicating prices sold for. II's sold for what I got for my DGD ones in the last auction. $110 for a SELECT that he had.

Default FHA Auction Grades

Anyone remember what there coyotes where valued at PT last sale? Probably what they sold them for.

Honestly with the crap going on will take the cash and run.

They probably had an offer called the other big players and said can you beat it. If not and they liked the numbers took it. No one can get in for the auction so not going to be a room full of buyers anyways.

Yes, I have the values for all my pelts that did not sell. I cross referenced one yote pelt with the printout with the PT sold amount that someone posted.

For March Lot #150015 and 150016 I had a value of $145
The same grade and likely the same lot (#159580) sold for $110 PT

If the $145 value is in CD$ and the PT $110 sold price is in US$ then they didn't sell below the posted value for that one lot.

I'm going to cross reference each lot later on.

EDIT* I can't confirm the value/sold for the rest without knowing the corresponding lot numbers. The value varies for the same grade.
ie. a D 3-4 could be $85, $90 or $115

Did none of you read Gary’s article in the last Alberta trappers magazine. He let everyone know about private buyers for castor. I’ve been dealing with Christian for a number of years and pay out is always better than auction. Same price as auction and no fees. Last shipment I sent weight was 27 pounds and that’s what he payed me for. I sent all good castor and all graded #1. $110/lb.

Do you have an online account with FHA? Everything should show up as soon as you log into it.

Default Fha

Well guys yesterday and today are the big FHA sale days, it will give us the real picture on fur market. I am somewhat disappointed why they would leave Fisher as very last sale item today, they could have left squirrels for that last spot.

Default Thanks auction

It will be really interesting to see what will happen with the coyotes. Please let us know the results. Hopefully it will be worthwhile catching them this winter. Any predictions? Fingers crossed.
