.222 handloads.
What are all you .222 shooters using for handloads?
Been thinking of trying some 40 grain nosler tipped varmint and maybe some berger.
Have yet to load for the .222 and would love to hear some recipes and experiences.

Im using hornady book minimum of imr 4198 and the 40gr vmax and it has exceeded all expectations. It is quite capable on coyotes to 300 yards.

loads
My 40gr load is with Reloder 7, 21.5 gr.
Speer m,ake a nice 50gr bullet called a TNT and it shot very well in my guns with Vhitavouri 133 powder
there really is a large number of powder combinations th at will work very well in a 222 case

I've been a .222 shooter since 1984, and my favorite bullet is the plain old, inexpensive 50 gr Hornady SPSX. It's been one of the most accurate bullets I've tried in my Sako, but it really does a number on varmints.
I like ball powders for their metering properties, so I use a lot of BL-C(2) and WIN 748. I doubt it's necessary with a small case like the .222, but I usually use small rifle magnum primers when using ball powder with the Deuce.

The hornady 50 gr SX bullet. It doesn't look sexy like the tipped bullets but is accurate and devastating at 222 velocities. Also inexpensive .
Powders like 4198 and bl-c2

.222
I still have my first Model 700 in .222 from 1965. I use BL-C#2 and 55 grain Hornady SXSP, and now V-max. For coyotes we use the 55 SP in Hornady. If I was using it a bunch I would switch to a temperature stable powder.

222 load
19.7 gr reloader 7 and a 52 gr McCracken HP and CCI BR primer
its not super fast but makes one hole all day long
for those who don't have a supply of McCracken's from the 80's and 90's then substitute Sierra 52 gr match HP
