Default National Parks Poachers

Just came across this channel on YouTube, two guys who claim to do survival / bush craft videos, and this one video / series takes place on a lake in Banff National Park. The lake is not mentioned but I know which lake it is. Several infractions are committed, including the use of drones, keeping of fish where it's not allowed, use of bait, probably random camping. Feel free to share the videos far and wide in order to shame these people, and if you happen to know these guys don't hesitate to tell them what useless trash they are.

Also, Parks Canada is fully aware and are investigating.

Its amazing how many big cutties those guys keep, I hope they get nailed to the cross. The one guy was the champion of alone in one of the seasons, he should have plenty of money to pay those steep national parks fines

I saw this a while ago too and recognized the lake, I’ve always wanted to fish it. I hope they get caught

Yes, he was the winner of season 3, and the other guy was a contestant in the same season.

Greg’s from BC, Fowler’s a yank. You sure their videos aren’t in BC?

“Grizzly lake” in their videos is definitely in Alberta. I verified the scenery with google earth when I initially viewed it.

Best part is, it’s all documented on video, it should be a slam dunk in court.

Yep, easy to verify on Google Maps when you know the lake. Hopefully the courts make an example of these guys.

The drone footage is what revealed it for me. Easy to tie it to that unqiue view.

Were you the one that brought this up a year or two ago and we’re proven wrong? They are in BC.

The drone footage they have of the lake lines up with satellite images of a lake in Banff Park. They appear to have fished more than one lake, but the one with the large cutts is clearly in BC.

Which lake in Banff? Or maybe coordinates if you don't know the name of the lake. I'd like to have a look. Thanks.

Correction, I meant to say the lake with large cutts is clearly in Banff.

You are correct, and if you watch some of the first episodes, buddy definitely has his truck up there(BC), before they hike the rest of the way.

These bushcraft guys are funny, they’re displaying a survival “challenge”, but in reality, Greg’s truck is probably loaded with all sorts of luxury items

Update on the whole situation, one's in court and the other has a warrant out for his arrest. Let's hope they get the book thrown at them.

Don’t worry, these guys are going to get hammered with some major fines, especially with the Parks Canada charges. My guess is each guy will receive between $10-$20k in fines, among other sanctions.

Greg is currently facing $140,000 in fines, and is fighting it on the basis that Parks didn't do enough to notify the public about catch and release regulations that came into place after whirling disease was discovered (yet cutts have been catch and release in the park for decades).

If someone checks out their video there is a place to file a complaint of illegal activity. Likely would make it not eligible for monetary benefits.

The sentence is a joke. Thank you for your efforts to make this public and to at least get this to court. The other guy hopefully ends up in jail.

These guys had been reported long before I even heard of the videos. I just felt the need to share it. While the sentence is a joke, hopefully he's been affected by the bad publicity (sadly it seems a lot of his fans are not outdoors people and are standing strong by him). If the judges are going to reduce his fines to $6000 from the original $140,000, I don't have much hope for the other guy getting more than a slap on the wrist - even he even ends up in Canada to face the courts.
