Does bidding continue on Coyote and Muskrat or is this the final result?

Think my finished rats (few as they are) will spend some time in the freezer.

Interesting, pretty tight between average and top. Could it be that in 31000 coyotes offered it was lower to average goods and this means there’s a greater demand for lower goods. Because if you look at results from august top was 100$ more at 281$ ?

Im sure had it been an actual in person auction perhaps you'd see the higher prices for the top ones. Nice ave though all things considered.

I thought that muskrats had a Darned good POP. Last August was 56% sold and a $3.19 Canadian average. A US $5 average is more than double that. 100% sold too.

Last August Western Heavy Coyotes were 100% sold with an average of $98.73 Canadian. This auction.....100% sold with an average of US $98.52 (about $120 Canadian).

It’s still not back to where it was but......Oooolala!

Any word on how marten and beaver did?

Ill leave it to FHA to give you the updates on the other species. Their work their project, etc

Bid is basically secret, buyers given a number known only to FHA

Rats did well compared to where market was at in my books! Very predictable

Very limited western heavy coyotes on this sale, 11,000 westerns??? Of which a significant percentage of semi heavy.

I'm going to try get ahold of them to access my account tomorrow, I still haven't seen what mine graded (coyotes) but would sure like to know. What did the rest of you guys see on your grades vs what you expected when you shipped?

$180 top doesn't sound like anything special, but $120 average is respectable. No crazy bidders for the nicest top lot ones like the NAFA days though, that's fairly clear far as that April 18th news release goes.

Guys looks encouraging when only 200 buyers. Also when you post your prices always indicate US$ or Ca$ at $1.20 makes a big difference.

The way the market has been, it's been a crap shoot either way to sell or ship. Last year most guys were happy they sold their coyotes instead of shipped. This year about 50/50. Its nice we have an option now, I personally almost always ship. Its exciting to see wild fur starting to bounce back, especially the items I mainly target. Rats and coyotes. Beavers would be nice if they doubled or tripled in value also. See how my skunks and bears do at auction now....

Wasnt you Marty or you would have known and wasnt what he offered. Long story short message someone make arrangments then not even phone to say you wont make it my time is worth as much as anyones. Coyotes were a mixed bag, and you would have bought them except maybe the three legged one that sucker just looked weird

In the other buyers defense, i had that happen once or twice this winter, it can get hairy out there, as in crazy/busy. Texting a person again or calling can save your day in such instance.

Rabbit trail

Small bunch of coyotes on this sale, not a lot of western heavy. Point being this is a small collection and the market still has to sort itself out once the bulk of the goods produced this year find homes. I suspect many folks hungry for goods and continue to be but we’ll see where it all lands.

It never sells until well after the sale usually a few days to a week after the sale it will show up sold, it will sell just hurry up and wait.

Jawa, very interesting that none of your martin went heavies. I found All my grades last year were much lower with FHA. I have received Top Lot with Nafa, now I cannot get Any decent grades with FHA??

Just got some fisher numbers from some last year pelts that sold now averaged around $20. How the hell are we going to pay for the $1.25 gas and diesel?

My coyotes did pretty good.. $150 lot was my best, $143.xx next best, $123ish average on the remainder. All converted roughly to CND dollars. It's short of my last few showings through NAFA, but still respectable.

Gaining some confidence, I think I'll ship more through FHA down the road. This year I did spread my furs between buyers, the auction and even sent some to tan, not knowing what would come of just sending to auction. Next year I think I'll focus on putting the works all up and shipping everything, like before. Pretty clearly still beats the buyers-route.

Same here first batch i have shipped to fur harvesters always have done things old school pi tails open pin legs open makes for a nice looking pelt buuut the grader has to check and see if you over streched thinking this guy just looked and marked semi based on apperance not checking i no over half should have gone heavy. My own fault should have checked how they want them done
