Default Varget powder at Cabelas Calgary

Just as an FYI - Thought I’d share my recent find with the AO community that Cabelas Calgary received a shipment of Varget powder. Good luck and let the stampede begin!!! Lol

Ouch $64.99! Not sure what the dollar is at right now but if you find it it’s going for about 36$ pound in Montana. Seems like all powders IF you find them are 36$ in Montana. Stuff trickles in and out at random that is all except primers. Haven’t seen or heard of a primer for going on 18 months now.

Yeah - Unfortunately Varget has been selling for $75 a pound here on the private market (if you can find it, and even then it’s gone in a matter of hours). I believe $65 a pound is likely as cheap as anyone will ever find it up here and prices aren’t likely to go down anytime soon.

Only one pounders?! Not worth it to me. It's 8 pounders or nothing.

Thanks anyways.

(I still have 16 pounds left, so I'm not in a great rush to buy.)

Weird that VARGET is in huge demand, but you can find IMR 4064 about anywhere. Very similar burn rates, but IMR is a bit more temp sensitive. Seems like it would be a pretty viable alternative.

Also the Dominion D4064ssc is close to Varget. But it is also temperature sensitive.

Wow, at 75 bucks a pound it gets a guy thinking that those guys that stocked up when it was 25-30, which seemed expensive at the time, should be really, really happy. Not to mention they actually have powder they can shoot.

Those are outrageous prices compared to what I paid just after Christmas this year. Got 8lb’ers of varget and h4350 for approx $275.00 each.

Dang wish I could find IMR4064 everywhere. I just bought 2 pounds and thought I was very lucky! Most places allow you to buy 2 pounds per day and only 1 of any particular powder. IF they even have it. I Had to get the wife to stop in just so I could get 2.
