Default Fishing the Bow in Canmore

The wife and I are planning a couple days of golf at Kananaskis and staying in Canmore.
Is there anywhere that i can fish the Bow right in town or nearby?
Don't want your secret holes, just a little hint or two. PM me if you prefer. TIA.

Tough crowd around here especially for a C&R river that is extremely popular

It’s been a long time like pre flood long but hiking in at old camp east of Canmore and working your way down stream was my favorite stretch. Don’t ignore the small side channels

Also caught lots of browns west of exshaw

There used to be so giants around the pump house in Canmore

Did well work the rock jetties where cougar creek (dry creek bed) meets the bow

Truth is flow rate and water clarity will play a bigger roll. If it’s dirty you are better off picking a lake

I don’t live in southern Alberta anymore so can’t give more up to date info. I do know my buddy in Calgary I taught to fish the bow around Canmore is still catching fish

Thanks smoky. Much appreciated. Never fished the upper bow before...so I'm real excited about golf and fishing all in one trip. Doesn't get any better than that.

Default Upper Bow has changed.

I live in Edmonton, so my knowledge isn't first hand. But I've been told the Upper Bow has experienced some significant changes since a couple mudslides and floods post 2013.

I'd check with Wapiti sports in Canmore and anyone else who guides in that area.

Throw your rod in with your clubs! There's a couple of rock piles along the Bow beside the Canmore Golf Course fairway that often produces fish!

That's a tough stretch.

Best to hit the run in the evening or at dusk.
