Try searching the forum; used the advanced feature. Snaring has been mentioned more than a few times over the past decade. Speckle55 knows quite a bit about the area.
I think there is a decent pool near the campground. Don't know if its up or down.
In general though, many streams in Jasper are not that fishable in late June, early July. Snow is often still melting and there is still runoff. Yesterday, the Athabasca was REALLy high.
Your best bet imo, is to fish lakes: Maligne, Talbot, Moab, Valley of the Five, or perhaps Beaver (check the regs for season openers). Boat rentals are available if that is an issue.
Maligne fished well a month ago.
As I said, stream fishing might be a little tough. If you really want to try, and the Snaring is too high, try the Rocky River or Fiddle. They are often the clearest rivers around in the Athabasca Valley.
Really, your best bet to get options for fly fishing is to check with the staff at Online Sport and Tackle.
