I was lucky enough to receive one of Mudbug's cakes yesterday with some help from FishingMom. Here is the cake chronology:

3:20 - Pick up cake
3:40 - back at office - choose to leave cake in truck, mostly to avoid defending the cake from my vulture like staff
6:35 - leave office and drive home in truck that now smells of declicious chocolate aroma. . .which is better than what it sometimes smells like.
6:36 - swerve necessitates bracing of body against passenger seat and "accidental " finger poke of icing.
6:37 - Icing removed from finger.
6:38 - 7:03 - several "accidents" occur.
7:04 - attempt to repair evidence of "accidents" before entering home.
7:05 - arrive home. Try to explain to wife and kids where cake comes from. Wife doesn't believe a dude made this cake and is convinced there is a girlfriend. Children seem quite impressed irrespective of my suspected infidelity.
7:25 - Eat supper of chicken chili. Convinced wife has now poisoned my chili. Also convinced the poison serum is likely contained in cake.
7:26 - Procure my first piece - notice a complete row of what should be cake is missing
7:30 - receive kiss on the cheek from daughter number 2 - evidence of the missing row contained around the mouth of daughter number 2 and now on my cheek.
7:35 - cake on plate, in comfy chair watching the Oiler's.
7:45 - cake in belly, Oilers in the tank and I am back looking at the odd shape remaining in the cake pan.
7:46 - rectify the odd shape in the cake pan by removing "extra" cake to allow a perfect square of cake.
7:47 - reward my restoration of the universal need for linear shapes by eating removed piece.
8:30 - take out frustration with my hockey team AND the lump in my belly (which I am sure came from poisoned chili) by riding bike
8:35 - bike riding not going so good
9:00 - give up on riding and return to comfy chair
9:02 - Start watching Gold Rush Alaska
9:04 - stop watching Gold Rush Alaska
9:05 - Wonder if eating some more cake would keep me up
9:06 - 11:30 - repeat above thoughts
11:30 - go to bed.
2:30 - daughter number 2 wakes me up and wants a glass of water. I get it for her. Whilst filling the glass, I glance around and notice cake. I also notice, no one is around. I get one more small piece for medicinal purposes only - to counteract the poison coursing through my veins from the chili.
2:31 - tuck daughter number 2 in bed with water. She says I smell like cake and wonders why she cannot have a piece. Busted.
6:30 - Get up after a bad sleep - must have been the chili.
7:00 - leave for work and decide not to bring any cake. Issue edict that family must not eat all of the cake as I won't be home until late tonight.
7:10 - truck no longer smells like chocolate - stupid poison chili
7:45 - receive text from suspecting wife as I am working late now after bringing home a cake from a dude - assures me that there will not likely be any cake left since some of daughter number one's friend are coming over.
7:46 - text daughter number one offering bribe to hide some cake.

Sorry for the long text. Mudbug, that cake is fantastic. Not too much cherry and the chocolate pieces add texture and treats to each bite. Very, very good. I will watch for more PIF's of cake and everyone else should too. Wait a minute. . .no you shouldn't.

Cheers.

SCO22 now owes me a keyboard, although I do not have any chocolate cake there was a liberal dosing of nasal orange juice that I am sure ruined it.

I think I can save the monitor, but my wife may need surgery. I am sure she broke something internal after laughing into a semi coma while watching me attempt near death re entry.

Also, great addition to the thread, thanks.

No, really, thanks.

Maybe we should just find you a keyboard condom.
Isnt this the second keyboard in under 24 hours you have made a mess of?

I either have to stop drinking juice, or stop using the internet.

Maybe intravenously........

That's a hoot I'm glad that you and your family are enjoying the cake. I'm betting it'll be gone by tonight, that cake usually doesn't last very long for some reason, I've never had anyone ask how long it will keep for ;o)

Ok- talked to Mudbug, and we have a challenge.

SuperDave will supply a cake for auction, with proceeds going to the Stollery.

Stipulations- the auction ends in 48 hours, and must be picked up in Edmonton, it will not be shipped. It can be gifted to someone else, or whatever you want to happen to it, but no shipping.

I will make the first bid of $25.00. If I win, I think I will go buy some chili and go visit SCO22 just to watch the drama

Bid is at $25.00, GO!

I have added your PIF of $50.00 to the Stollery, and you are on top for the cake.

I wonder how big a $70.00 cake really is?

Welcome to the party JohninAB!
