Default Plastic hand Gaff......

I saw this gaff in the regs and wonder if anyone is using them and your results....small, no barb, no sharp edges, ease of release?
Thanks.

No way I would use it on fish I was going to release myself. A net, cradle, lip gripes, and hands are all way better options. Even for catch & keep it looks awkward

This is just my opinion from looking at the design

Talking

When I read the title I had no idea what to expect, but thought it was quite funny. Less grip to hurt the fish maybe?

So how is it supposed to be used? Do you slip it behind the gill plate? If so, I can see it potentially causing significant gill damage if you are unable to feel your way between the gills and gill plate like you can do with a finger.
