Default Snake's Head Natural Area (RDR)

Hey all,

Has anyone gone to Snakes Head before? I spent the day up from Calgary on Saturday wandering around the Sundre area and though I would check it out but there was a gate with a no trespassing sign (from a Gas Co. I think, I can't remember the name on it) going in. I was trying to access it from the west side of the river, straight up from Sundre. I did not go around and check the east side.

Thanks in advance.

There is a trail on the east side of the river that you can get pretty close to the river on. The Snakehead area can be good but does require a bit of walking between pools. Some good holes near logjams. Good brookies, browns, bulls and rockies. I have never been skunked along the Snakehead stretch.

Be bear smart and alert.
