BADs
BADs did there jobs again today. Had a deer in a snare broke out of a 285 with little to no struggle. And caught a cougar it also broke out. Super pumped with how we'll they have worked. Haven't caught one big game animal. ever thing breaks out! Did lose a wolf to one in my coyote snare but better a wolf getting away then catching a bunch of big game animals.

Do you think using 360's you would have kept the wolf and deer would have still broke free ?
Hate to lose a wolf.

I'm not really sure if you have a kill spring a 360 should hold a wolf. But I'm no expert I'm trapping in the bow zone so there is very few wolves. Not worth switching gear for them.

Ok thanks, just asking, first time trapper here.
I have some 360's and wondering what will break them and what won't.

Ya I think you should be good if your running breakaways. Those wolfs are tough buggers though.

I have some 700's too but I don't want to snare any deer.

I'm pretty sure that you want a 645# BAD for wolf. I don't know if a deer would break out of it but you could always put a deer stop in the noose so it won't close farther that 2.5".

I lost a wolf from a coyote snare quite awhile ago when the break away released but I don't know what poundage it was. No way a break away for deer would hold a wolf.
