You can buy the Sillosock flappers for 30.00 ea at CWPS in Edmonton, comes with 2 ft glas extension poles that fit rotaries and bouncers. By the time you run around finding materials and cutting and sewing and painting, that isn't a terrible price. I got 1/4" round bar from a fab shop in town here, cut from 3 to 8 ft, the flappers and sillosock extension poles fit on it, may need to hit that end with a file to make the fit a bit looser. Couple minutes with a grinder to sharpen them on the other end. Tried some 10ft plus ones with just 1/4", tend to lean too far over and bounce in the wind, but do give a nice action to them. I found we didn't really need anything longer than 8 ft. Struck me as the best way to go above 10ft would be 3/8 bar with 1/4 " ends on them, but, never got around to it. Steel was about 20.00. If you have a steady group of 4 hunting together, you could each buy 2 flappers, not expensive that way, and that is enough, if you want more, buy 2 more each next year.
