Default Compound bow for kids

My girl is 12 and has taken up archery at school and loves it, she is wanting a compound bow for xmas.

I'm not a bow guy and know very little.

Was looking at cabelas and came across this one: https://www.cabelas.ca/product/14104...nd-bow-package

She wants to shoot targets in the yard and work up to rabbits and eventually deer.

Would this be a decent started bow for her?

She is tall for her age and slings flats of water over her shoulder from the rig to the house, so she is capable that way.

Any insight would be appreciated.

My daughter started on a similar bow. But if you have little or no knowledge about archery or bows, then I would seriously consider heading to a place like Jimbows. They are excellent with youth and new shooter, and they will make sure she is set up right with the proper poundage. A few shooting lessons now in regards to proper form and shooting sequence will be worth it's weight in gold and make the experience much more enjoyable for your Daughter.

Look at a diamond edge… hugely adjustable in draw length and weight.

I’d definitely second this… I’ve been bowhunting for almost 30 years, and even still, I’d go to Jimbow’s and try a few out before choosing one. Same for my kids. I’ve never been to their Edmonton location, but there’s no doubt they’re the best bow shop in Calgary. They’re awesome when working with youth and teaching them.

i second the Diamond Edge, very adjustable and will go up to 50 pounds. So if hunting is in her future you will be good to go with that Bow. My daughter has been shooting hers for about 4 years now and she just turned 12.
