Obviously Savage rifles are superior to any Weatherby.

I don't have a problem with either the rifles or the cartridges made by Weatherby. I just don't see the need to spend the dollars on them when there are much more practical options available to acheive the same or better result. Not real fond of the way they look either but no doubt when guy behind the gun does his part they work just fine.Mearly my opinion and its worth what you paid for it.

ill play the other side of the fence i feel weatherby cartridges are better in all similar offerings but they are far more expensive for the slight advantage they add. a 300 win mag will do the exact same job a 300 wby does as well as a 300RUM does the same job a 30-378 does the only caliber that i will give real props for is the 257 i dont feel there is anyhting else in that area that compares

Their application for a business permit was denied because of poor craftsmanship.

Savages are like mopeds you don't want to be caught by your friends with either one of them

I agree with you man, they are just far to expensive for me anyways, and they are less accurate then most rifles, i think it is more so that people can say my rifle costs much more then yours does, mine is better type deal.

What sort of 100 yard record are we talking about?
Benched, prone, machine rest?
IBS, ISU, or NBRSA?
I have never heard of this claim, so would like to know.

Factory Norma brass is considered some of the best, as are Match kings.
However, the only thing remotely close to Weatherby is the brass design, the cartridges do not come with Match kings, and the rifles do not get barrelled up with kreigers and match triggers!
That is like saying that savage holds the World 1 mile record, when in all actuallity it is only a Savage action, the barrel is hart and the stock is a Sheahane IIRC.
However, that being said, and although it is not the World record, it is still super shooting!

i compleatly understand your arguement but i was defending the cartridge not the gun and match king nosler or barnes no matter the bullet its still a weatherby cartridge made by norma or H&H its still a weatherby cartridge

to all the weatherby gurus out there with a 300 wbymag that think they have the king of all rifles and they are the best thing going i do belive that the 300 rum is a superior cartridge and it is not a weatherby made one either and to buy a gun chambered in this better cartridge would be half the price of a so called good weatherby the thing you should do with a weatherby is buy 1 and burn it so no 1 else ever owns it

My first rifle was a Vanguard in 7MM, and it shot great. I probably wouldn't buy another unless it was a good deal just cause I prefer some others, but if I got a good deal no doubt would buy and shoot one.

It's like asking about someones truck, even though they know Dodge is better they might claim Ford is the best.

Out of wind after that one? Try splitting it up into a couple of sentences and you will have time to breathe, and perhaps not sound like the rambling of a kindergarten kid.

You may want to take a look at weatherby's other 30 Cal bullet the 30-378. Again just a bit better than the 300 rum

Sure is nice to see owners of sub par rifles(tikka, savage) going at it instead of only picking on the King of rifles the Weatherby.
