Default Home builders and Progressive home warranty

We are in the process of removing our builder from site. Dealing with progressive home warranty is a mess. Clearly there are issues with this group . Has anyone filed against the new home warranty provider successfully here? I cant see how any of this is legal .

Builders set up as shell companies that can just walk away . Not honor contracts or warranty and home warranty that would find the smallest loop hole to leave the home owners holding the bag.

Really seems like a lot of people are going to left hung out to dry.

Default It was a long time ago

Felt New Home Warranty was useless. We caught general taking shortcuts and not building according to blueprints so ended up firing him. He placed a builders lien and sued while we counter claimed and hired professionals (engineers etc.). Three years later he settled for work completed and not paid while we filed bills from other subs that were required to complete his shoddy/incomplete work. Engineer assessed foundation and not only did we have to pay out of pocket to have it fixed but new home warranty refused to pay anything toward repairs. It was a 3 year nightmare and I think the only people that won were the lawyers we employed.

Default

i bought a rental from a large builder and over the years as we needed warranty work done the contractors were always out of business.

This is from a company that claims to be one of the biggest in alberta.

Is your builder a smaller builder? How far along is your build?
