Thanks for the clarification. Trying not to be a snowflake but there are a few people on here who make it difficult.

Maybe we are all suffering way more then we should because in a time where we need a real truthful leader that makes good decisions we have none.

Leadership has to be designed around as the timing of a viral outbreak isn’t predictable.

This thread was not to be about covid-19 but instead avoiding another pandemic.

I’d hope that the next pandemic will be much cheaper to fight and much more of the money and wealth involved will stay in the domestic economy rather than be shipped abroad. So for economic diversification maybe Alberta should seek to be a domestic manufacturer of choice (government contracts) of PPEs, vaccines and critical medicines.

We now have verifiable data on such consequences. So proper advance stockpiles could save billions upon billions of dollars in PPEs alone. Waiting for it to hit and then paying 500 - 1,000% (billions to tens of billions more) more is an insane way to budget.

We most definitely should be manufacturing more drugs and ppe, it’s very poor planning to rely on other countries for it. Can you imagine if the military relied on a China to supply them with 80% of their ammunition? Why are we doing it with drugs and ppe. Canada also needs to put its own citizens health first, even if it means risking offending someone over a border closure.

No need to worry, it will never happen.

Recent failures regarding the production of Covid-19 vaccines in Canada promised by Trudeau leave me with little confidence that any Federal Government will ensure our capability to make vaccines, drugs or PPE in Canada. After all, we won't really need to do so after the Great Reset establishes proper globalization principles, will we?
