Default Livingstone advice

Will be camping next week at livingstone provincial park. Hope to get my son his first fish on the fly. Any advice on where to go would be appreciated.

I can tell you that the fish just get bigger and bigger the further downstream you go to the confluence with the Oldman River.

Plenty of access points just upstream and all the way downstream of the falls campground. I would personally ignore the deep hole at the FTR (HWY 40) bridge and focus on the deaper runs downstream.

The gravel pit is good but extremely popular.

By all means try for smaller Cutts at the pool below the falls.

Also the stretch immediately downstream of the Husky (?) oil bridge access several Kms above the falls can be fun and is easily accessible of HWY 40 across a narrow meadow. Fish aren't huge but if hoppers are starting you can get both cutts and even young bulls on the surface.

anywhere downstream of the campground is incredible fishing on the Livingstone. my fav section is about the last 5 - 10 km canyon stretch along the FTR just before it turns away to go around the mountain. lots of access points and you will literally spend all day fishing maybe 1 km stretch of river for some big cut and monster bulls. and when i say monster bulls, i mean monster bulls. very easy river to walk and wade.

the river can get crowded, even during the week, but it has so many good runs that you can always find a section to yourself.

just find an access point anywhere along the road and start fishing. biggest decision will be upstream or downstream of where you start from.
