Seriously, good reminders, and the skeleton pic shows how risky a neck or spinning shot is. Heart and lungs boys and girls, heart and lungs.

Default Awesome

Also, if I can add Lost, hitting one lung is useless. Elk along with caribou have the ability to shut function down to one and go a heck of a long ways on one. 1 lung I hear 2 miles PRIT NEER.
Oh, and personal experience too. Sharp tree stand angles at 10 feet, hard to hit both lungs. Elk found tho. Hehehe.

That they can..I tell everyone Elk have three lungs, two hearts, and other spare parts...so you want to get at least two of those lungs...or one heart...
Have personally seen elk take an older bigger Thunderhead broadhead...thru top of one lung ...bottom of other...elk walked away and tried to bugle several times over the next hour...he walked 500 yards before laying down and expired...

Very well said. Cant imagine trying to bugle with arrow slits in two lungs. Holy smokes. Elk are the Asiatic Water Buffalo's of Alberta. That's why I switched to 2 blades, need that full pass. 40yds seems to be their safety circle too those buggers.
