Default Arrow Rest: QAD ultra HDX or Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro

New to archery. I Have used a whisker biscuit in the past. Looking to upgrade to a drop away arrow rest. I have limited it to the QAD ultra rest HDX and trophy taker smackdown pro. One is a cable driven and one is limb driven. What are the pros and cons of each. Hunting out of a ground blind and spot and stalk mule deer.

Last year I switched from whisker biscuit after 13 years of using it. I went to the qad hdx my everything shot better quieter and less replacing vanes.

I like my qad ultrarest. I've been shooting and hunting with mine for four years. The cable driven rest is super easy to set up. I love mine but I couldn't tell you what the trophy taker is like. A good bow shop might let you try both.

Not on your list but I use a Vapor Trail limb driven. It is super easy to set up and really not the timing issues that cable driven rests might have.

I had a trophy taker smackdown and it fell apart and I replaced it with a QAD and I've had no issues in the 2 years I've owned it

I've used both in the past, I would go with the qad. Only reason I switched was to get the ripcord with microadjust.

Limbdriven tends to be a bit more accurate but for a hunting situation it is another cable to get caught while stalking and also if you have a bow with limbs that are extremely veriticle, the limb attachment may slide and cause issues.

I have shot a QAD for a while with no issue!

Been using a QAD for a couple years and it’s been great! Made the switch from a whisker biscuit and wouldn’t go back much more accurate.
