Went to Buffalo Lake Narrows. Glad I took the yak and not the boat. It’s the death of props in there this year. The guy running the provincial park figures the lake is down 2-3 feet. I don’t disagree. Marked 1 fish in 4 hours. Deepest hole I could find was 5.5 feet. Usually you can get 8 feet in there and the fishing is pretty decent. Not worth the time. Still a great day.

Well got out today with the yaks before the wind picked up.
Walleye and pike were the target species.

A lure from down under was a hot ticket for pike!

Well just got back from a little island time and needed to relax so out came the yak and it’s was just what the doctor ordered.
Peace and quit but the dam fish kept interrupting.

Slow trolled this beauty and man did it get the attention of sharp tooth critters.
Need to drop it down for lakers tomorrow.

Only thing is the lure has two sharp trebles and when the thrashing starts it’s tight quarters in the yak so ya better have it together, yup pinched the barbs to ensure easy finger removal if required.

You are not making it easy to go to work lol

Savage gear 4play is a good lure but if you really want to see it shine stop trolling/straight retrieving it. Walking it side to side with small pauses and then odd short straight swim in between is often the real ticket

I keep one in my box all the time when pike fishing and it has conditions it can be down right deadly

A 3-4 joint swimbait is definitely in consideration for a future project

6 more days the wife and I will be hauling the Kayaks to Ontario

Been awhile since posting here but man the summer is going by so quick.
Just got back from the mountains on a fly fishing trip and prior to that lakers in the boat so we figured about time we hit up a local lake for some much deserved kayak time.
Again had a blast, met a fella in a kayak from Saskatchewan and he was doing well catching his limit of perch.
We just picked at the perch and pike enjoying the weather.

Always nice to pull up to a nice sandy shoreline to enjoy your lunch too!!b
