Skre Gear, who's tried them?
Just received my Hardscrabble jacket in the mail. I like it.
Just wondering who's tried them?
We plan on doing a Skre Gear Hardscrabble jacket vs Kuiu Guide jacket head to head comparison podcast episode in the new year.
But so far the initial quality of construction is the same, material appears to be very similar, and the Skre jacket is 1/2 oz lighter.
The only down side...$40us flat rate shipping to Canada! I was able to email them and get a discount on this, which they happily did. However that needs fixing.
But curious with other peoples experience with the company.
Cheers
John

I picked up the hardscrabble jacket and pants this season. Love both, will be back for more. Haven't had them in rain yet, but snow the set did great, and was in some gusts up to 120km/h this week and was holding strong.
Love the vents, pocket layout is nice. The material quiets down after use and a wash, but it wasn't loud to begin with. If anyone is looking to order do a size up since they run a little small. Best of all price is right!

Good to hear. As soon as I looked over the jacket I was sorry I didn't order the hardscrabble pants along with it. But thought I'd try the jacket first.
Their down jacket looks awesome too. It's the same price as the soft shell which after shipping, taxes, currency conversion is $100cdn less than the Kuiu super down.
I think they're on to something....

I did a quick look at their stuff - the Hardscrabble Jacket/Pants/Vest look tempting!
Like the pattern too.
Do you find you have a good range of movement in the jacket, John? Does it have any "give"?

Yeah, it's got stretch to it. It's a soft shell so that material has a good amount of give.
I'll be taking it out on Friday and using it while hunting elk in hilly country. So will have a better idea on performance in the field.
It's supposed to warm up so a good day for a lighter jacket.
The only criticism I've found on line is the pattern is too dark. So shall see while hunting....

Their products look really good, but the $40 US shipping is a killer! I was looking at their gloves, $49.99 plus $40 shipping? Thanks but no....
Nevertheless, please update us on the performance of the jacket and pants.

That's weird, my shipping was free from them to Canada, maybe they upped the price now?

If you call, they might give a better deal on shipping. Did for me.

I got a lot of the gear and getting more once the new pattern out. All their products have held up last season sheep hunting for 10 days and moose hunting for 11 days this year. Stayed dry and warm. And it's comfortable.

Have you tried any of their rain gear? I’m thinking of ordering a set for next season as I think Sitka kuiu etc are crazy expensive for Canadians

How did you find the hardscrabble pants in the wet. Not expecting them to do well in a downpour. More curious to know how they did in light rain or in wet underbrush. Did it take a lot before saturating?
Thanks for any feedback.
