In 2016 submitted late Nov (last day harvest) results back in March 2017.

This year I submitted a head last week, will see how it goes this year.

Default CWD testing turn around time

Problem is for bow season . I submitted mine oct 3 got results late November. And they don’t have there freezers out yet . Local f&w wouldn’t expect it so had to drive it 2 hours back to where I shot it to bring the head . (Oh in business hour and not from 12-1) gov workers :/

We got all of our four results back on the 10th of November. Three heads in Wainwright freezer Nov. 1st and one on the 2nd. Didn't have antlers to remove so heads went in whole.
Both Edmonton Cabelas have freezers if you want to bring the heads back this way and remove antlers at home.

Dropped off head at Cabelas North on the 12th of Nov and got results on the 22nd.
Pretty good turn around I would say, not that i was worried young white tail buck with lots of fat. Very healthy deer for sure.

They asked if I was still going to eat the meat knowing it tested positive and I said no. They said that was the recommended decision and asked me to discard of the meat either by burning or burying.

Yes I will be given a replacement licence for next fall.

Just out of curiosity, what happens if you don't have an email to or Alberta Relm account to get your results? Will they still call you? One of my hunting partners is still incredibly old school, he doesn't even own a computer or have email. He still buys his licenses through the Cambodian Tire.

For those that get the bad news (heads test positive), and the animal in question represents a long awaited draw, do they get a replacement tag for the following season ?
