Sorry to hear about Mudbug. I met him last year and discovered that his wife was my daughter's teacher in grade 3.
I know that Silver has stepped up to collect/get flowers etc but I'll throw my hat in the ring if it would be easier. The Sturgeon Hospital is only 15 minutes from me and I could pick up flowers and drop them off to him tomorrow. All that I'd need to know is what I'm budgeted for, I'll make the purchase and people can square up with me later. I'll check the thread in the morning.
Of course I'd be in for $20 as well.

I agree with I-LOVE-EYES, wait for a bit. I went thru this a little less than 3 years ago, the other half was also rushed to the Sturgeon. They took very good care of him but visitors are restricted to immediate family and the flowers , etc would not be allowed <sad face>
Best wishes for a speedy recovery
Count us in for $20. please.

Someone let us know who is in charge of the collection.
Makes it easier if we know who is getting the EMT.

X2 - I'm headed out hunting later this afternoon, gone till Sunday night. I'll watch the forum this morning, if not, I'll see if I can send something on my return. Chatted with Dave a fair bit over the last while, and very sorry to hear this. Man, this guy has had a tough go of things.

Oh man, that's terrible news, Dave's a great guy and he's done tons to help out a lot of people on the forum.
Silverdoctor, if you need a hand with anything let me know, I'm in the area.
If you're coming out tonight I'll pitch you another $20 for the flower fund.

Right on Jay.
I have been trying to get ahold of his sister, she is likely at the Hospital.
I will update as I find more out, you Edmonton guys do the same if you go there, please?

OK- Dave is in CCU for the next few days, immediate family members only, NO FLOWERS allowed, but giant bunnies and fruit baskets are encouraged. Great nurse.
He will be there for a few days, then moved to another wing. RIght now he has TV provided, when moved it will have to be paid for.
We have a good collection going, how about we:
Get a giant bunny delivered,
Some fruit, maybe daily if we can find somewhere with integrity that will deliver,
and pay for his TV when he is moved?
Any other ideas?

Can anyone in the city find a huge stuffed rabbit? I don't care if it is $150, I think it will warm his heart getting it from us.
Also, can someone check out a fruit basket? SilverDoctor said he will deliver, but has trouble shopping. I'm the same.
I have all the info on Dave's room, PM if you need it.
ALSO- lets make sure everyone signs a card.
Again, PM SilverDoctor.

I googled stuffed animals edmonton, no luck.
We may have to go another route, unless someone can get out shopping.
Maybe the wing guys can check tonite, if there is a toy store nearby?
Not trying to 'volunteer' you guys, just looking for solutions.

Ken,
I know it's not huge........
what about this bunny?
http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index....uctId=11931880
Adorable, cuddly bunny figure hops around, circles back to you, and makes cute sniffling and nibbling sounds.

Yes, I know he is a full grown man, but I bet he smiles. You have to really know Dave.

Trust me if I could find a Giant Lola I would be the first to tell you.
Only thing I can think of in that respect is to hire someone to make him a Lola.

Leave it at the front desk of Cardiac Intensive Care Unilt. Dave will have one nurse assigned to him each shift. I am quite sure the bunny will get to him.
Dave is probably quite tired right now after all he has gone through.

Ok, we have rabbit... Not cheap but he's cute, about 2+ feet with ears.
Called around, can't get a fruit or gift basket til tomorrow at the earliest. Thinking logically, how much fruit would one eat before it goes bad. Most of the non perishable baskets contain junk food - and after a heart attack, chances are he's on a strict diet for a bit.
So what else would be good? What does he like to do? Books or magazines? Throw some ideas out.

Not cheap is ok, if you need more money let me know, the next thing goes on my visa.
I left a message for his wife, going to find out about books, magazines, crossword puzzles, etc.
