I have a "Vari" X III in 6.5-20X40 with a fine dot on my 22-250 which should be close to what you are looking at. I like it, but if I was replacing it - I would probably get the Varmint hunters reticle in the new VX3.
I have a buddy that has one mounted on a Tikka T3 Tactical 223. Sweet set up. I have a VX2 4-12x40 AO with the LR duplex reticle on my Sako m75ss 243....love it. HAd a mint Vari-X III 6.5-25x40AO as a safe queen I tried to sell for past couple years to no avail, but in March bought a mint Sak m75ss 22-250. All my other rifles either have Leupold Vari-X III's (1) or VX3's.
Thanks for the replies, I have VX 111s and like them just seeing if the 11s stand up. Had good success with the old M8 line , but getting hard to fine, Thanks
Leupold has taken many hits from benchrest shooters on point of impact shift problems. From my experience testing them they deserve every hit.
Never-the-less... I still use them on hunting rifles, but have been very disappointed in their products. The last VX II I ordered had a variable adjustment ring so hard to turn you pretty much need some vice grips! Very disappointing given this day and age and their experience in riflescopes.
They had this problem years ago and still seem to have this problem. I guess that’s why they have their lifetime warranty. Over priced - IMHO - absolutely, but let’s face it, the warranty does cost them money.. especially when they replace product without questions!
I wish Nightforce would move into the hunting line of scopes............. sob sob sob....
Leupold certainly has pushed many manufacturers to offer improved product and thankfully they are!!!!!!!!

How true, leupold has taken a beating in the benchrest world. Leupold has stood still for the last decade while everyone else played catch up and is passing them by.
