Default Restricted mail order shopping?

I've never mail ordered a restricted firearm and am wondering how they come shipped? I ordered a restricted firearm from the local gun store and picked it up today. Fortunately I took a lockable gun case with me but I didn't bring a trigger lock. Lucky enough the gun came with one because that's all I need is to spend a couple more bucks to have another key on my ring that I have no idea what it fits. So anyways the gun came in a cardboard box not locked. Why can they ship it in a cardboard box but I need a lockable case to bring it home? When mail ordered does the box come marked with all the manufacturer info?

when i got my ar15 in the mail, it came in a hard case, and the firearm was trigger locked with a crappy plastic lock.

the case was wrapped inside of a cardboard box, and there was no markings, just a packing slip.

They charge you extra for the case? I'm gonna assume the case wasn't locked.

I didn’t get charged extra, but I’ve heard some places do. Case was unlocked.

The mailman has no clue what's in the package it could be a waffle iron for all they know.

They usually come in the plastic box trigger locked with the two prong lock inside a plain cardboard box. I'll let you know tomorrow for sure when my new Browning 1911-22 shows up.

Hard case not locked and trigger lock inside the case in a little bag. Delivered to shoppers drug mart. Supposed to sign for it but they forgot I guess. I thought it might be my waffle iron so I never checked to see I needed it all locked until I got home with it. I think the cardboard box had the emblem of the manufacturer on it.

Another question would be how comfortable would anyone be with opening it up at the post office out in the open to put trigger locks on a restricted. The people in line behind you might freak out. Lol.

If you pick it up at the PO, you take it home (unopened) in the package it was mailed in.

None that I received from a commercial seller have ever been locked or in a locked case. Mailed to me in an unmarked package.

Not mail ordered but manufacturers name all over the place on the box. Trigger lock in box. To bring it home we just put a plastic cable tie thru the action and put it in my locked case. I ordered a shotgun from sir years ago and it come in cardboard box with trigger lock in the box not on the gun.

I'm not about to open a package with a restricted at a postal outlet, the kind of problem arising from bystanders eager to call 911 I don't need.

Do most people open their parcels at the post office?

Let us know how you like it. I settled for a Ruger SR-22 but it was a tough choice between the two.

Just in
Package arrived, plastic case secured with a tie wrap wrapped in brown paper sent parcel post not even signature required ??
I requested a tracking number 3 times with no response very poor performance from an AO sponsor.

On a better note the little pistol looks good after a good cleaning I'll introduce it to its big brother at the range.
