Default remote bear camp

sturgeon river,northern ont,3 million acres,when the hugh white pine forest were logged out this area became idea bear habitat,thick alder and brush,,the spring bear hunt reinstated after many years,i came out of retirement in 2016,the new owners knew i was familiar with this hugh area--great fishing limit of 4 walleye per day,and monster pike ,with 14 boats and a fly in camp,moose and wolf hunting--24-7 for 9 wk fall hunt,usual travel alone in the woodsmans paradise. pictured a 5 bear night,actually 6 a wounded recovered in the am,calls for a long day skinning and processing meat to the walk in freezer.from the old camp with spring and fall hunts for sure we processed hundreds of black bears.

contrary to popular belief ,most black bears are below 300 lbs,we only had 2or4 trophys for the whole season,onlyfamilar with northern ont---actually the largest black bear i ever saw was alive at a sports show in ohio years ago,they say he was close to 700lbs,he could clean a corn cob off the back of his paw,free with a small rope to the general public--
