I would be interested in any info as well. I will be camping at the indian lake campgrounds this long weekend and can't find any info on Mcquillan. I've seen it on the list as electric only but i pulled up a lake map from anglers atlas and they don't have a boat launch shown. The only links i can find on the internet are lethbridge county links which seem to be dead right now. Does any body know if it's worth the hassle of dragging down the tinnie or if we'd be better off shore fishing?

Went there once, was a waste of time. Its basically a square hole in the ground with a little bit of water that is fairly inaccessible.

mcquillan isn't bad this year, there are some trout in there... depends how many people are on the lake... wouldn't bother with boats of any kind... its not really big enough for that. trout that i've caught have all been around the 1lb mark but i'm sure there's a few bigger ones in there hiding in the deep.

Weeds up really bad, water levels have been fluctuating over the past few years so the fishing has deteriorated. Lots of good reservoirs a short drive away.

Fished there just after ice off and everyone I seen was taking their limit of 5 bows home.

There was some half decent fish coming out of there and I hooked into quite a few fish but like I said that was at ice off and I haven't heard anything good about it since.

I fished it last year and the year before and it wasn't fishing very well.

Damn just noticed this thread is quite old.

Could throw in a canoe or pontoon/floatube at most. It's nothing fantastic but can be fun on the right day. I do fish it often in the spring when the streams rivers are closed and I dont feel like driving far. There are a few lunkers kicking around in there as with any pond. It is what it is, small prarie stocked weedy trout pond.

I was there on April 17th. 2013. Caught 2 rainbow trout approx. 14" in lenght. Both were infested with some sort of parasite. They are round black spots under the skin all over the flesh. From what I found on the internet they get these parasites from bird droppings. The ducks and gulls crap in the water and the fish eat this and pick up the parasite.
You can eat the fish if they are well cooked and to my knowledge humans are not infected. I don't want to take that chance.

Yeah, I noticed that too last time I was there.

Black worm parasite or whatever... Safe to eat if cooked properly, but who would want to eat fish out of there anyway (IMO).
