Default How's Keho fishing?

Wondering if anyone's been there recently. I would consider camping out there for a couple days of fishing if it's good...

I've been meaning to head out there, but the weather and timing just haven't worked out.

Me and another guy from the forum might head out there the weekend after this one. If you haven't gone yet maybe we could meet up.

I may be there tomorrow if I don't have any luck at Clear lake.

I've been to Clear a few times this year, always produces but I thought I'd give Keho a shot. Supposed to be some good sized pike and eyes, I've heard of pike upwards of 14 lbs. Clear lake pike have to be 100 cm to keep (!) but Keho is a more realistic 63 cm. Also, keep limit 1 at Clear and 3 at Keho.

Ok, to answer my own question I went down to Keho...

First, nothing but pike in the lake. I was hoping for walleye also but a local there told me he's never seen one come out of Keho.

Second, the pike fishing is good! Lots of weed beds to skirt, caught several in anywhere from 6' to 16' of water, trolling with crankbaits and spoons. Good old Len Thompson.

Third, there is significant gravel road to navigate to get there. My boat looked like it was dragged through the Sahara for 3 days.

My fishing was cut short by inclement weather and high winds, but on a nice calm day this would be a great lake to explore.

So for real don't bother? It's quite a drive from Calgary which I'd rather avoid if its fished out. In the short time I was there it seemed decent.

Posting stuff like this in a public forum will only cause Keho's regulations to change for the worse eventually. Clear was fished out of big fish and soon so will Keho. Fish it but don't broadcast it. Please?
