Hey guys. I have a down parka I want to get trimmed with wild fur (coyote ($), wolf ($$) or wolverine ($$$)). Is there anywhere in Canada that can provide such a service (Ill need them to provide the tanned trim too).
i just took my wifes parka to the local seamstress in town and handed her a tanned fox pelt. she was able to cut a piece off the pelt and sew it on the hood for 30 bucks. i tanned the fox myself so the cost to get the fur on the coat was very reasonable i thought. the coat looks just like you'd find in the store with the fur.
Sourced the ruff from Bill Worb in Winnipeg. $125/ft for wolverine (2.25" wide leather). Generally need 25"-28" to trim a hood. While Canada Goose jackets are beautiful, I can save lots of $$$ by buying a more generic down parka and trimming it myself....plus I can use wolverine!
