Default Chain Lake Athabasca

I'm working on my cabin at baptiste lake so I decided to take the morn off and hit Chain lake with a buddy. Got to the lake at 7:25 and fishing by 7:35. Off the lake at 8:30 with limit. Drove out 20 ft punched a hole. 27" of great ice. Drove my truck right to my spot. May long could be touch and go for ice off.

In the past few years, every time I have fished that lake on a weekend, there has been a sizable crowd of filipino fishermen and their relations filling grocerybags with trout. I know someone is going to call me a racist but whatever, that is the only change that I can see which would account for the drop in the quality of fishing.

Lack of a really good food base, relatively high stocking numbers for water body size and high fishing pressure means fish don't get very big before they are caught and kept. It's not scientific fact just a possible theory for Chain.
