Default Shipping time from the States.

How have others found the shipping times to be on orders from the US? I ordered a new flyrod from Tennessee over two weeks ago, and it still haven’t arrived. I know they shipped it the next day after my order.

It depends on how long it is hung up in customs. Usually they are fairly fast, I won't regurgitate some of the horror stories I have heard though.

As short as 2 weeks and as long as 6 weeks. 2nd last parts order was held at customs for 3 weeks till it cleared.

Customs can and will hold packages for no reason sometimes. 2 business days for courier express. 2- 6 weeks for regular USPS-Canada post. All of this excludes customs

I have been finding my orders from the States have been pretty decent, in one case, only a few days.

I suppose there are several variables. For instance, whether the shipper has their export documentation up to snuff, and the carrier as well...

I ship and receive quite a bit of stuff. Inside Canada, pretty much the same as pre Covid. Coming across a border, total crap shoot. Some stuff shows up okay, other stuff, 2 months and it still sin't here. A big chunk of the problem coming out of the States is Customs. They are completely swamped and being the total bureaucrats they are, they could care less if you have to wait. If you are getting stuff from elsewhere is could be customs or that countries postal/freight services. Anything out of Italy or Spain is REALLY slow.

Really random. Had one package from Minnesota show up in 10 days, and another one sat at US customs for 2 weeks and then Canada customs for 2 weeks.. finally showed up tho.

Has been 1 month since shotgun choke tubes I ordered Were shipped from Trulock. Have their email confirmation of shipping. Still not here.

Two Previous orders for choke tubes were received in 3 - 4 weeks so At this point was not concerned. If I remember correctly Canada Customs was involved In one of shipments and I paid a duty when picking up parcel at post office.

But Anyway have now started investigating and Trulock Web site info says shipped is through UPS, but it now has a warning that international orders are suspended.

Oh oh could be trouble.

Yeah, it sucks just like most everything else. They sure don’t mind charging you an arm and a leg though. Now that’s what I call service.....

Nightmare with UPS. I had to cancel an order. DHL took two days from Los Angeles to my doorstep.

I'm restoring a classic truck, and the US parts orders have been surprising. In most cases less than a week, the odd case was over 2 weeks.

McAdam NB to lloydminster via UPS 12 days, the package sat in Quebec for over 3 days then again in Ontario for 2 days, UPS tracking system sucks the big one, after it left Ontario the next tracking entry was 5 days later and that's the day they delivered to Lloydminster.

The last one I ordered from there came via Canada post regular parcel post and arrived in 6 days.

Got a parcel from Buffalo NY last week that also came UPS and was here in 6 days ????????? go figure International was twice as fast as within Canada

Ups/FedEx are usually the good ones. DHL is usually one of the worst.

Nothing is worse than Canada post. Used to receive 1000s of packages a month

A lot of stuff is being held in quarantine by the post offices and customs. They will just let it sit for days if it is coming across the border from anywhere.

Yup
and would be more worried about damage than getting here sooner by a couple of days

Shipping from anywhere is a crap-shoot right now. My wife ships stuff worldwide and has had packages, shipped at the same time, reach Australia sooner than Colorado.

Last time I called Canuckistani Post they told me to expect about 10 days per depot for a regular parcel delivery. Dont bother calling before 45 days. My package from Onterrible took 61 days.

If your factoring in the border crossing then its likely going to add at least another 3 weeks if it was was shipped via USPS. Shipping within the states I can not give you an answer.

Assuming US shipping is still good I would estimate 3 days to Canada Customs, 21 days to clear customs, 10 days at the Ottawa depot, 10 days at Toronto, 10 days at Winnipeg, 10 at Edmonton so rough guess is 64 days at best.

Hopefully things have gotten better since my last Canada Post delivery. Fedex economy only took 4 days from Montreal.
