Apparently he used party donations to fund his kid's private school. I guess sheer is just as corrupt as truturd. Now I get why he practically disappeared a week before the election. He couldn't care less. sad.

Scheer Stupidity.
The road goes on forever, and the party never ends.

Where in the world is that coming from? I've read the Sun, CTV, Globe and Mail, that isn't mentioned in any of them. Sounds like fake news to me...

Sure glad I never voted for that dirtbag. Hilarious how a couple stubborn Sheer shills on here were calling us PPC voters fake conservatives. Too easy to see through that slimeball. So puma and hunterdave take a bow and instead of thanking me for trudie getting elected again (somehow??) give yourselves a pat on the back for not seeing through sheers charades lmao.

I was a participant in a phone survey last night. Plenty of questions as to whether I had faith in Scheer as leader of the Conservatives. I think he is a nice guy and a decent man, I don't have confidence that he can inspire voters to vote Conservative.

I think Michelle Rempel or Rona Ambrose should be the leader. On the survey, one of the options was Candice Bergen. Distant third in my view.

And no Mad Max had his chance and he has shown that his loyalties are to his own ego. When you leave the party and start your own party, possibly leading to the Liberals winning some contested seats, there is no coming back. Mad Max is the maroon who left classified documents on his coffee table when he was dating the biker chick. He was compromised as a result and Harper fired him from cabinet. If Mad Max had any class, he should have resigned at that time. His policy is all over the map also. Who needs another leader from Quebec?

Now the party can get on with building a credible alternative to the Liberals.

You are fake. The PPC had no chance in h ell of success. The policy was all over the map. Mad Max is self serving. If you fell for that, you are a fake conservative.

For me in this particular order:
Pierre Boulivere
Rempel
Ambrose

If I can only dream of Stephen Harper to take over the party!

We need someone like Trump to fix the Conservative Party. Otherwise they will remain an equally corrupt and terrible party, just one that's slightly less socialist than the others.

This is Canada, people. We need folks willing to campaign from progressive and govern from centre right. Or the carousel will continue.

In the interim who knows. They'll pick someone as interim leader who can debate Trudeau's speech writers and handlers. I agree that Michelle Rempel is a powerhouse too as others have mentioned but she doesn't speak French which means she will be unable to debate in the house in both languages. She would never win the party leadership and would have no chance of becoming PM.

I think it's obvious that Peter MacKay will re-enter politics. He'll handily win the party leadership and would have no trouble defeating Trudeau in the next election which will likely be in less than 2 years.

I liked Scheer but he didn't have it. Too nice. So he decided to walk? I'm sure he was pushed. Either way, we have a much better chance when this turdo gov falls because he pizzes off one of his keepers and they don't vote his way.

If the next leader is a woman, I wonder how the left will try to put her in the anti women's rights, anti abortion, anti everything box that every male leader has had to deal with.

I could see the Libs manufacturing their own defeat to try and catch the CPC without a leader, trying to get a majority.

Conservative Party Leader Andrew Scheer is resigning.
But he says he will stay on as leader until his replacement is chosen and continue to serve as MP for Regina—Qu’Appelle.
His resignation comes as a direct result of new revelations that he was using Conservative Party money to pay for his children’s private schooling, according to Conservative sources who spoke with Global News.
Senior Conservatives say the expenditures were made without the knowledge or approval of the Conservative fund board, including the chair of the board.
There are also calls for the party president to resign over the schooling expenses. “I just informed my colleagues in the Conservative caucus that I will be resigning as the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, and I will be asking the Conservative Party national council to immediately begin the process of organizing a leadership contest,” Scheer said in remarks in the House of Commons shortly after the news broke.
“In order to chart the course ahead in the direction this party is heading, the party needs someone who can give 100 per cent.” Scheer urged members to stay focused and vowed whoever wins the leadership contest will have his full support.
“My only ask to my fellow Conservatives is this: let’s stay united.”

Sounds like he was possibly using party money to pay for his kids' private school. If true, not only was he a weak leader, but a phony, hypocritical crook as well.

I'll second Rona Ambrose, Michelle is better suited to her role now, I didn't/don't want Max either just wondering if he tries to come back to the fold. Agree with you about Candice

I was underwhelmed by Scheer anyways, but support the party. I'm a bit perplexed as to how anyone in the public eye in this day and age would pull such a stunt and not expect to be caught....

Too bad Michelle isn't bilingual, but she could always study...

I too like Pierre Poilievre, though Rona or Peter MacKay would be great.

It would be cool to have Canada's 2nd female (and only elected female PM) to both be Conservatives. Just to rub the Liberals nose in their own virtue-signalling. Pretty easy considering the intellectual-vacuum of a leader that they've chosen.

It isn't confirmed, but it's being mentioned a fair bit.
