Question Ice fishing around Edmonton.

Hey guys. I'm fairly new to the city and unfortunately haven't been able to do much exploring as of yet. Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
Looking for a lake within a reasonable distance from Edmonton (1 hour or so) that i could take the kids to, to go ice fishing. As we all know for kids its quantity over quality. Lol. I know I can hit wabamun for copious amounts of walleye and the odd pike.
I was hoping for somewhere that I could possibly keep some as well, as the kids are wanting to start to learn how to gut and fillet them for supper. Not looking for anyones honey hole. Feel free to PM me if you would like. Thank you in advance for any help your able to provide.
