Its hard to get the engine going when all you have is water in the tank even if you have a Ferrarri

Was at the game. Was actually a pretty good game. Oilers got outplayed in the first but second and third were better. WOW was there a pile of Leaf fans at the game. Made for a great atmosphere at the game. Seen 2 older gentlemen (sitting side by side) a couple sections over they got 2 out of play pucks over the glass to them. Both times they looked for a kid sitting close by and gave them the game pucks. Man that was a nice gesture. There are still some kind people in this world. The whole crowd in our area cheered when these guys gave up the pucks.

Meeeeh !! Water or not I still rather take my chances with the Ferrari and Porsche than with the barn full of Pintos down south.

Truer have never been spoken. Gonna be good regardless who ends up on top. Nice to see a changing of the guard in the pacific rather than watching all the Cali clubs year after year after year ...... would be awesome to see all three Canadian teams in the finals of the pacific.

Man getting Calgary in the first round would be awesome. Easy out in 4 and move on to round two. Like getting a buy in the first round!😜

When was the last time flamers actually made it past the first round?
Sounded like a pretty fair assumption to me

Just trolling a bit for some good natured teasing. We will see. If everything stayed true to form the Oilers wouldn’t even make the playoffs. So I’ll spot the flames two wins in the playoffs. Oilers in six !!!🤣

2015 the flames beat Vancouver to advance to the second round.

As was said.. 2015 Against Van.

So I took a look back trying to compare apples to apples. I took the history all the way back to Calgary's run to the cup and therefor included the Oilers 2 years later. That seemed fair and reasonable.

Cup Finals. Flames 1 Oilers 1
Made Playoffs Flames 8 Oilers 2
Years they didn't make playoffs. Flames 7 Oilers 13
Made it past the first round Flames 2 Oilers 2 9This includes the SC runs both had)

Nothing to overly brag about there on either side. But making the playoffs in the NHL is a accomplishment in its self. It's a hard thing to do.
But what's even better than making playoffs is being engaged in the entire season, not cancelling your cable at the end of Nov.

I’d never cancel my cable. Only thing I like more than an oilers win is the Flames chocking the last two years. 😜

To be honest I’m happy the flames are back in it. Was so tired of sharks and ducks hockey. Be nice to see some Canadian teams involved. If all three make the playoffs at least we can watch one Canadian team in round two.

“ Go OilFlaCan Go. “

We may need a special game thread for the 27th though. Anyone want to head this one up ? Maybe a moderator 🤣😂

I'll just leave this here....

Let me just get out ahead of the painfully obvious. Yes, I know the Oilers suck.

Can any Flames fans admit to the same?

Your 80's are showing...................

You know in a few days we will be 20 years into the 2000's But hey if you still have number 99's poster on the back of your bathroom door and enjoy looking at him while reliving the good old days, well, so be it............Not judging at all, YOU BE YOU!

Don't like the 80's.....

OK, since 91 ( and excluding 04 and 06) the Oilers have missed the playoffs 18 times but have won 6 rounds. The Flames have missed 15 times and won 1 round.

They have both sucked playoff wise except for 04 and 06

In the words of the great Ricky Bobby. "If your not first , your last" The last time either of these teams won anything was Flames 1989 and Oilers 1990. The last time I checked nobody on this forum was a member of either team ever , time to get over yourselves. Face it already, Flames and Oilers both have sucked consistently through the last 19 yrs .

Fine. It’s settled then.
The last time the flames were anything was the 80’s and the oilers the 90’s.
I can live with that......

I gotta Disagree here. The oilers have owned the draft lottery for at least the last 8 years !!! Gotta be good at something. And now we get to brag about McDavid.

I also caught that.. Kinda wonder where the guy is used to sleeping? Do they call the ceiling in a 1979 Winnebago a a "ROOF"

I instantly started thinking about cousin Eddie and Christmas Vacation. Considering he is a Oilers fan, that all tracks rather nicely.

And I do NOT have a poster above my bed of Chuckie.... Its Lanny and its signed. Well, not by him but by me.. BUT its still signed!

DON'T JUDGE!!!!!!

'79 scamper actually.
I can overlook it being Lanny seeing as the same hometown and all.
