I thank you for being a very good mod and we all know this is not something people are taking lightly .
We can bitch about traffic tickets and other crap, but when our family members are shot on the side of the road like there worth nothing, we have to give all involved a solid thank you, win or lose they are out to help every one.
So I say thanks to all personnel in law enforcement out there giving it their best shot, they will get these guys no if what's or butts or die trying which is more than most will ever do in their whole life.

What are you expecting JT to say? Has any politician said anything about it? Why would they? The guy is an idiot, but I don’t see how he would have to say anything about it at this point.
Military arrives in Northern Manitoba to help search for homicide suspects

The Department of National Defence confirmed that a Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130H Hercules aircraft from 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron in Winnipeg will assist with an aerial search.
The statement said an RCMP officer will be on board the aircraft to direct the search and said this remains an RCMP-led effort, with the Royal Canadian Air Force in a support role. The RCMP will determine the area for the air search.
RCMP officers have started going door-to-door at every home and building in the Gillam area. They're doing the same on the Fox Lake Cree Nation. Police are hoping this will help drum up new leads to help with the investigation.
Police are also searching large abandoned buildings like the Keewatinohk Converter Station Camp near Gillam, which has over 600 rooms.

Its funny, when you deal with Police from around the world. You appreciate the ones we have. Are our men and women in uniform perfect. Nope, are they terrible nope.
When one says they are bad at their job or only looking after themselves. I have to ask the simple question. Why have they gotten to the point they have to cover their short comings to the extent they do?

Curious that the CF is throwing a Herc into the mix, I would have thought that it would be good use for drone training. The drones would obviously be less expensive to operate and not so obvious for the suspects to spot. Then again, the sight of a Herc would probably send them into a panic mode.
Either way, I guess the cost isn’t really a factor as it’s useful training, these aircrew need flight hours (and frankly more applicable as a military skill than wild land firefighting or building sandbag dikes to combat floods.).

The Herc has a super detailed camera. My guess is they can fly at 30,000 feet and the kids won’t even suspect they can see them.

Considering the international media attention this is gathering, wouldn't it be ironic for them to get eaten by a polar bear? We'd never live it down

Hey all you "cop-bashers" out there who think cops are stoopid - just remember that they don't tell all they know to the media!
That's how they catch the perps (or in this case, any accomplices)
When a likely suspect is being interrogated, they have certain ways of questioning, so that sooner or later the guilty person will blurt out something that was never made public - then they got him!!
EG: "How do you know the victim was wearing a green T-shirt?? That was never in the news.........." (or whatever)
As an aside - watch a few episodes of 'Forensic Files'. The cops won't ever "tell all" in the show and explain exactly how they got the perp.
They don't want that show to be a "training video" about how not to get caught.
Just sayin.

This is one of those times when the public should be given more information than the rcmp are willing to give. Their protocol of “little as possible” works poorly when you need the public to help you,and really are grasping at straws.

Multiple RCMP resources are being sent to York Landing, Manitoba, to investigate a tip that the two suspects are possibly in, or near, the community. A heavy police presence can be expected in the area. We will continue to update you as information becomes available. Please do not disclose officer locations by posting photos of our officers to social media.

I saw an "unconfirmed" report of gunfire as well. Seems the majority are not reporting this though, either too early and they just haven't reported it yet, or it isn't true.

Yeah, I went to look elsewhere and no one else reported yet. Sounds like hearsay for now. Hope it isn’t though and they got them.

I thought Canada only had like 6 fighter jets in stock ?? Missiles would cost EXTRA

If a few crack dealers get locked up as a side effect of this whole thing, the more the merrier!

Youd have to read all posts in the thread
I posted on media, book deals, songs, etc about this “manhunt “....... more of a “boyhunt”
The father of one of these pukes coincidentally has a book all ready to be published but he gave a copy to media already
Some CBC media idiot wrote an article comparing all the so called big “manhunts” in Canadian history insinuating this was one of them
Just proves that media are about the same level as politicians....maybe 1/8th of an inch above a politician actually......

I looked at the satellite frames on google maps and there is some kind of path, road or cutline that leads from Gillam to York Landing through the bush, possibly only about 60 to 70 km as the crow flies. A "borrowed" quad could do that trip in a day.

If the area is all swamp and muskeg like suggested, it’s likely a winter road.
