Eagle at 9.5 inches good ice , 11 total. Cars and trucks galore on the ice. Played it safe and brought the quad.

Default Lac. St. Anne

How is the ice out there? Specifically from the yellowstone boat launch? And how has the fishing been on that side?

Was out there yesterday. Walked out and found about 10” inches of ice. Only caught a couple small pike but still nice to be out. I’ve heard there are cars out already from the boat launch in town but decided not to push it yet.

Any luck on Butcher? I’ve been thinking about making a trip but I’m unsure if it’s worth the gas money. Looks like some breathtaking scenery.

Always be cautious. We have a smallish open water hole on a Calgary man made lake.

With the warmer temperatures one never knows what the ice conditions will deliver.

Does anyone have any reports from Cold Lake on ice thickness? Heading up that way Sunday... debating where to try to get out. Walking on, no driving.

Not too many good reports from our central lakes. East wind, low pressure area passing thru, I hope that's all it is. Sure disappointed in what I've seen so far this ice season. Pelican point area on buffalo had 11 inches or so. Got a nice pike and a Ling to try out my new smoker. Had to move a couple times, sat for a couple hours in two different spots, cameras down not so much as a shrimp down there and the visability was excellent.

Was at Pigeon yesterday. 6-8" where we were fishing. 4 guys. 10 walleye. Fish had lockjaw. Most excitement we had was watching a crowd of guys whose shack had literally melted down about 4" into the ice. They were taking a chainsaw and cutting all around the shack to loosen it. My buddy leans over and says, "This is about to get interesting!" I had my phone at the ready to video a swanky new shack descending 20' underwater. Alas, an engineer showed up with a long post and pry bars, so they were able to cantilever it out of the ice and pull it away with an Argo. Was happy for them as they were nice guys. Thankfully they put it up on some blocks properly.

Default Wabamun lake

12 inches just off RR55 and 9 inches at Seba beach by the tall reeds, fishing was incredibly slow in multiple spots and depths, walleye were very lethargic and skidish, pike were their usual non aggressive/uninterested selfs.

Ya I’d say he put it out there a touch early this year considering the ice conditions (Dec 19th) . He was worried about the flood water freezing over his subfloor. New pressure cracks opened up again on Sat, so there’s more slush to get through again around the point. It’s going to be awhile yet before it’s safe for trucks unless we get a good cold snap.

No. I was fishing nearby earlier on. The old boy that owns the shack had wheeled up to me with his Argo looking for an axe, to start chopping it out. He mentioned he had a crew coming to help him move it.

Default Pigeon ice heave

Has the usual ice heave formed across the middle of the lake yet. I feel safer knowing that the ice has somewhere to pressure up.
