Default .338 Lapua AI

I recently acquired a custom .338 lapua AI and I have questions.
Does anyone have or know of a source for reloading information or can someone recommend where to get started? To take full advantage of the rifle/cartridge I think 300 grain bullets are a must? Defiantly want to take advantage of its long range capabilities.
I will need to fireform the cases from standard .338 lapua brass. I have an idea about how it works but would like to have the right direction.

To fire form loads simply use a mild 338 lapua load and fire . If your chamber has been done properly you should have no problems . Some like to oil the cases lightly before firing . I have built a few of these .

Alberta Tactical down in Calgary has built some rifles chambered in 338 Lapua ackley.

I would give them a ring and ask for advice.

That is probably the right move. Alberta tactical built the rifle.

You can use standard lapua loading data . One can start at the maximum loads for the standard case and start working up to maximum loads. Read up and understand Ackley Improved calibers. Improved/ Straighter walled cases are still easy to extract even when passed safe pressures . So don’t use sticky bolt lift as a pressure indicator .
