Looking forward to
A knock down, drag 'em out battle royal. Complete with name calling, backdoor deals, skeletons in closets, you know same like in the States (good political theatre), hope they drive each other broke and the winner barely survives leaving a fractured, bankrupt party for the UCP to crush.
But in reality I expect each candidate jumping over the other to dream up new ways to give away your ever rising tax burden. Betcha a buck the winners first act will be a naming contest for a PST...my bet is the "It's for your own good" tax.
Alas a man can dream

Going to be hilarious watching him and Gil slander each other.
I wonder if they'll make Gil be last at the podium every time with their "priority speaking" rule.
That is, if he ever recovers from Covid. Lol
Losers, the lot of em.

Anyone but Gil or the purple prince. And of course the union boss aint stepping away from his union duties while he runs for leadership of the party.
I can only hope they come in last and second last. Scary thought if they win.

I guess he eventually had to show his true colour. Is he going to call people that don’t vote for him racists again or just saving that one for a special occasion?
Yawn. Another idiot like trudud.

Who do you pick?
Ordinarily the union guy would win. But now it’s not about policy it’s about who can win. Well what do you think?

Do NOT ignore
Guessing most folks neither knew or cared who ran the dippers...until they started running the place (though nobody recalls voting for them)
Then we got an amazing cast of fools like the minister whose greatest qualification was she "liked spreadsheets"
And like half the caucus had never previously held office
And a business hostile regime like no other
And a swelling civil service
I want the weakest, dumbest, least qualified candidate to run the dippers... straight into extinction
Based on these criteria I do agree picking a winner will be tough

There is a good number of NDP supporters on the forum. I ask, is Nenshi a good choice to lead the party? He made 3 terms in Calgary, can he do the same as the leader of the dippers? What say you?
Maybe this job pays a little better and he can finally get his own place lol

^^^I think membership is $10. Now is it worth donating to the NDP in an attempt to have the biggest wing-nut take control?

Then again, Trudeau was probably the least qualified, biggest wing nut to ever run as a federal leader.

Touche.
However, a true wing-nut might even lose a few seats in edmonton.

My riding went NDP last election, but was the only UCP riding before that. I would like to think my neighbours might swing back if a true-blue anti-oil, WEF, fifteen-minute-city, no-more-roads leader came to power.

I work at the University of Calgary and my office is in the Foothills Medical Centre Complex, specifically the "Cal Wenzel Precision Health Centre"
Cal Wenzel is a Calgary-based developer that gave the University of Calgary a substantial donation and got his name on the building.
The connection to Nenshi is that Nenshi said some really nasty things about him, Wenzel sued and they eventually settled. Nenshi racked up many tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills. So, every time I go into the office and see the sign, I am reminded of Nenshi being on the Calgary Eye Opener radio program and essentially saying that Wenzel was a scoundrel
Here is the story:

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson....meh, boring.
I'd pay to see Naheed Nenshi and Gil McGowan fight though. Winner takes on the heavyweight champ Hoffman.

Watching Nenshi over the years, he seems like the kind of person who would go down the same road again, he's not very bright that way. He may have made mayor of Calgary for a couple of terms, but I don't believe he has the sophistication to tackle provincial politics or to deal with the Feds. The classic Ivory Tower Intelectual.
