Default Floatingstone Lake Odd Catch

Took the kids fishing and snagged a large comercial fishing net at Floatingstone Lake. It was full of rotting fish and dead ducks. It looked like it was there for quite some time. I called Fish and Wildlife and they came and retrieved it. What a shame that lake is netted. Such a small body of water and no stocking program. A nice deep lake that could sustain a healthly population if managed properly.

Here is a picture. You could imagine how bad it smelled by the look on my sons face.

There is no more commercial gill net fishing in Alberta. The net you found was either set by a poacher or someone with rights to use a net to fish for subsistence.

Good job getting ahold of the proper people and getting that net outta there. That's about the last thing poor old floating stone needs.
