Default Looking for group to take proficiency test for ATC

Looking for group to take proficiency test for ATC to dispatch and/or protection

Hoping to find a group of guys that want to take it in the Edmonton area. If there is a group of guys interested I will approach the instructor and set something up. Wanted 4 guys minimum by the sounds of it. Myself plus at least 3 others.

Getting a few PMs regarding details. This is a proficiency test. To show proficiency at different ranges with your restricted firearm. Have to be a trapper on a registered trapline to apply for ATC. Can get paperwork by contacting CFO.

There is some info in the paperwork on types of holster accepted and other important info.

This is getting a group together for the proficiency test. Once you have that paper you submit it with your other paperwork to the CFO. Then if requirements are met will hopefully receive an ATC for your line.

We did ours last winter at Onaway F&G. The proficiency course/test is the first step, then some paper work and then an interview with the CFO. We had to test twice because we did the first test with a 9mm and a 22. The 9mm is considered to be too small for protection, you will need 357mag minimum. Just make sure you test with the right firearms and fill out the forms correctly and you should be ok. The CFO we dealt with was very helpful and very knowledgeable about calibers, ammo, ballistics, penetration, holster makers, etc.

I heard that they can issue an atc for protection but not dispatch! Is this accurate?

NO. It's at the whim of the little dictator whether you bow to its wishes.
