Default Trap Line Ownership

Just was wondering how you go about finding out who is the registered owner of lines in Alberta. Im really interested in trying to be a junior partner or anything like that but just need to know who to contact in my area. TIA

Where is your area? There have been a few previous threads on this as I remember. Have a search.

Go to the nearest F&W office and inquire there. Leave a name and contact info with them. They will check with the individual and it will be up to him if he should wish to get back to you...They will not release any personal info...

Sourpuzzy Doug is well aware that trapline numbers and the name of the individuals that it is registered to is public information. He even acknowledged this information on past forums

If Sourpuzzy Doug doesn't like this information being made available to the public then he should just go right ahead and have the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act changed to his approval and that is if he thinks he can do so. He has been told to do so on past forums.

A map showing all the traplines in Alberta can be purchased from Map Town in Calgary, phone number 1-877-921-6277. The map is called Registered Fur Management Areas and will cost you about $35 including shipping.

Since the names of individuals that are registered to traplines are public information and not protected in any way, one just has to write to the person below. Just say that you are requesting that a computer print out of all individuals that are registered to all traplines in Alberta be mailed out to you.

Thanks Laker for that info. As of a couple weeks ago my name is not on record with the oil and logging companies and I thought it should have been by now according to one of the main oil guys in charge in my area as he checked for me. Does she have a phone number by chance?

Don't really know what your problem is Slacker but it is there. There are cyber bullies and the the other type
I was just going on the info that I had and that was that within our own local, at one time, we were not able to access of the membership mailing address even from the ATA
So put that in your pipe.
I would not mind knowing , who has what and is where but I can ask around and get the info I need. I don't need a list hung on the bathroom wall.

Default Trapline list

Nube, F & W update the new trapper list every year. It takes awhile for Oil companies to update their records as well as all the engineering companies that may be using old records.

I called esrd today and talked to a nice gal and she said if I give her a line # and she would give out the lease holders name. She wouldn't give me a print out. So I ordered a map from map town.

Good to know that it will be done. I got the head guy and my Fox creek Fish cops looking into it for me as I believe they are supposed to pass that info along. I wish they would get my name on sooner than later so I don't loose a bunch of marten boxes and also know if they are putting any new lines in for oil leases

I don't know what peoples issues are with sourdough Doug , I have met the man in person a few years back and found him to be very nice man to speak with!! He actually rented me his boat slip for the entire summer as he was unable to use it. He charged me a rediculously cheap rate!! Too much internet trash talk. Some people have different opinions in stuff and that is fine!!

Keep contributing Doug !!

I agree as well. Doug has PM'd me a few times on issues as well I have had questions to and even passed his phone number to me for a question I had as well about pistols.
I think sometimes when your on the internet you can be seen in a different light at times by others. I know some people have me labeled as well and I have never met them. lol

I'll third that. I used to work with Doug 8 or 9 years ago. Never had a problem with him. Always had a good story. Interesting guy that's for sure.
