Will they make the weiners out of wild game? Or is this just a deli item they have ?

Think a stick of pepperoni in texture. It is a bit of a fermented flavour. very unique and delicious. It is not an emulsified texture like a hotdog, so the name is misleading. I have no idea if they make them from game. I just like stepping in local meat shops, and I was doing a fair bit of hunting in the Viking area this fall, and discovered this place. I do not know if they make them from wild game. Definitely worth a try though.

Just talked to them. They make Viking Wieners from wild game. You have to bring in minimum 30lbs of game and they charge $3.75lb. In addition, you pay for pork trim at $3.99lb. They add 1/3 pork to your wild.

If I wasn’t committed to making my own stuff, I would take a deer into them and have the whole thing made into Viking Wieners. That’s how much I liked them, and I am as picky as it gets when it comes to game.

First this quote "That looks really functional. 6” is a nice length. I look forward to hearing reports on how you find it’s use."

Now liking Viking Wieners........

I'm starting to re-think hunting with you.

Every time my job takes me east on 14, Viking meats get visited.

Viking Wieners - So good out of the package or boiled for a meal. Always a package in my freezer. I get 3 when I go, one for my house, one for Mom & dads, one for an uncle.

Their Ground Beef Jerky sticks, Yum Yum.

Their Beef Jerky, so good, especially if you get there right after a batch is made.

Never make it home without opening one or all 3 and having a road snack.

I have tried their garlic sausage, its good too. Lots of choices behind the glass for fresh or frozen.

I’m still not clear on this: are the famous Viking wieners only available from game you’ve dropped off, or can anyone drop in and buy a couple of dozen?

No they make it from their own meat and can make it from game meat.
I used to live in Viking AB.
If you want large quantities call ahead. I live 16 hours away now.
