Default Looking for a 6.5-300 Wby Accumark

Hey AO, new to the forum here. Im not looking to argue the caliber or the make of the rifle.

I contacted Weatherby and they haven't gotten back to me yet, and ive looked for a dealer through their website and couldnt find any in canada that had a 6.5-300 accumark. Any help or nods in the right direction would be appreciated! Thanks!

It going to be something you'll have to special order or contact clay at prophet River to order you one in from the states. If you special order it, you might be waiting a long time.

Weatherby is usually pretty quick. Although the 6.5-300 is still brand new(Well the commercial version at least) so OP you may have to wait for demand to die down a wee bit in the states. Call Clay at Prophet River and ask. He will know better than anyone.

When the 30-378 was introduced, people were lined up to get one, and it was over a year before they started arriving in Canada in any volume.

Clay may be able to get one up for you from the states from one if his contacts down there as well.
The better option IMO of course is to build one !

Building one is the best idea by far, build what you want, and you won't be limited to a Weatherby action.

Fir a hunting rifle you will get many years out of it unless you start shooting targets and groups .
Worst thing a person can do IMO is get s load worked up for a hunting rifle then shoot groups with it - just check zero every so often and shoot a few from your preferred field positions and you won't notice it going from 1/2" to 1 1/2" in less than 2,000 rounds!
Animals will still die with one shot !!

I replaced the barrel on my first 7mmstw at about 1500 rounds, because the accuracy had deteriorated from around 1/2moa to just over moa with fliers that opened some groups up to 1-1/2moa. The 6.5x300wby is more overbore than the 7mmstw, with similar case capacity, so I would expect a shorter barrel life of perhaps 1200 rounds, if you are careful not to overheat it, and it is cleaned properly.

My last 6.5 BadCat got redone when it was at 2,500 rounds.
Mick McPhee told me that there was a full 4" of throat gone before he got decent rifling- it would still hit a clay pigeon most if the time at 500 meters .
Don't sweat the round voting on s hunting rifle !!
