Default NSR sturgeon in Edmonton

Hey, I've always wanted to take my father out sturgeon fishing somewhere, and the closest place I can think of is somewhere in/near Edmonton (unless the rdr has some good spots that I don't know of). I think it'll remind him of catching Belugas in the Caspian Sea. Im just looking for tips to help get me started, you don't have to tell Me your secret spot or anything. Questions:
-Where should I go?
-Can I use bait?
-What should I use?
-What time of year/day do they bite?

Thanks in advance.
