I know you specified you want a miniature pinscher, but I'd recommend a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel if you can find one. Perfect for condo living, it can be trained to hunt, and they have great temperament. IMO they're the best small dog, and I wouldn't buy any other small dog after having a King Charles.

If you do get some funds together and want the number for a breeder PM me. Ours was great to work with.

I like large breeds but have had lots of beagles. some were only 11 inches at the shoulder. Not a breed you should entertain. Can be noisy and they are runners.
We always have had a small dog in the house. Papillon, terrier crosses Yorky, miniature poodle, etc. All rescues.
Present dog is beagleXboston terrier. tough as barb wire and smart. She's 13 and goes like she's half that.

I'd suggest looking at a Jack Russel Crinkle coat. Hardy little dogs, smart and tough and maybe a little better suited for Alberta.

Had friends on the coast who raised a few.
They sold one to a woman from Washington state. The woman called to return the dog. She had a new baby and the dog was about a year old. Too much for her to deal with both.

She was going to return the dog in a week or two. Meanwhile she was at the mall shopping. Put the baby in the car seat while she loaded groceries dog was in the car as well.

Some bad guy jumped into her car and started to drive off. The dog attacked the side of the guy's face and head. He had to be taken to hospital cause his ear was nearly torn off.

The woman kept the dog.lo

They say good things come to he who waits...

Found a dog, 5 year old pure minpin, cute little bugger. I'm hoping to have him by the weekend, but next week for sure. Will post pics when I get him here.

My friend has a Min Pin. Got it as a rescue from a family they knew. Cool little dog. Took a couple visits for him to warm up to me yet took to my daughter immediately, now he knows he will get a good scratchin from me and comes and sits on my lap for his turn. Post those pics.

Well, meet Monty the Miniature Pinscher. He was brought here tonite, going to take a bit of time for him to settle in but we're going to get along just fine. He's not in a picture taking mood yet

Don't give the little guy a complex

It's typical for pins, great hearing - damn good nose too.

Wow, he's doing amazing. Took him out to a few clients today, course everyone wanted to pet him which is great. Took it like a champ. He's settling in faster than I realized he would.

Hasn't slept much, the front door is still a bit of a boogyman and the neighbours Chihuahua barking all the time isn't helping matters. He hasn't barked tho, a few very quiet woofs and low growls.

Off to the dog park for some fresh air and exercise. He should sleep good tonite

Nice little ankle biter. Not overly fond of small dogs but he is cute.

Been near 4 months already, where does time go?

It's taken alot of time investment and work, but Mr. Pin has become a great little buddy. He's wonderful with children, adults and dogs. Totally fearless, won't start anything but he'll bloody well go toe to toe with any size dog that pushes him. It's so nice, I can bring him everywhere, and clients love him, he's like a therapy dog.

Oh, and I found a lady to make him a snowsuit. Fits like a smack in the mouth for $40.00. Fleece interior and mylar exterior. Hard to see in the pic, but it's a full body suit.
