There's some variability in capability, but if you get a good one they are truly amazing. My first one would do no better than 1100m, but they take the 5-year electronics warranty seriously and replaced it. The new unit ranges much better. In good conditions it can hit trees at over 2000 meters, but performance seems to decline quickly in poor conditions (cold, bright sunshine on snow covered ground, etc). My Bushnell Fusion 1600 is much more consistent in all conditions, but won't match the performance of the Kilo 2000 in good conditions.
