Default Keeping active this winter

With volleyball likely out of the question, I just bought a very nice ping pong table to set up in the garage. When I was at bear camp I played at least 4 hours a day for 2 weeks, and just loved it. There was only 1 person I could not beat in the end, damn asians lol. (Relax, that's what I called him in person)
I know it's not super strenuous or heavy cardio but I remember a damn good sweat and sore joints for days.

Anyone else enjoy table tennis?

Or what are your plans for fall/winter other than pushing bush?

Have a ping pong table in the garage that I would really like to move to the basement but hey the better half and myself use it a whole lot come December and January. That said we both prefer walking around the neighborhood and area come winter everything seems that much better in the crisp air. That and life seems to slow down in the winter and you can enjoy that much more.

I and a friend had epic TT games back in high school and after.

When he first taught me to really play the game, he would spot me 20 points and win every time for a while. Slowly I gained on him. By the time we quit, we would play forever before one would win. One of my fav games.

Hopefully something other than pornhub marathons again. Maybe ice fishing with the manual auger. I’ve got the arm for it now.

I find chasing after huskies on a runaway sled to be somewhat exhilarating, curling for the cooldown.

I am in the gym all year, and I run my dog all year, on snowshoes for much of the winter. And this year, I am adding snowmobiling to my routine again.

Lots of time at the ski hill with the kids, Cross country for me.
Growing a huge beard, and chasing the wife around the house.

When I was 7-14 years old I played table tennis a lot and was pretty good in it.
Played it during lunch breaks (our office had a couple tables in basement).
Really enjoyed playing it during my Cuba vacations.
I have a table in my Calgary house basement.
And I have a designated table tennis room in my BC house.
Hmm, yes, I like table tennis

From the poll I chose gym. I have a full gym setup in my basement. We'll also be ice fishing this winter and I lay dabble in some hunting later on too.

You know what telemarking is, right? It's not making phone calls pretending to be Stan from Mumbai.

Ice fishing isn't really staying active, and I did mention pushing bush.

Try dragging a 40lb sled a mile thru snow up to your knees. Then when you get there drilling a dozen holes with a hand auger

I was to get a new hip in early May, sadly didn't happen thanks to Covid.

But, things are on track again, met with my surgeon on Aug 12, and not a date set in stone but by December I should be on the slab for repairs.

Gonna be a long winter, I will need to find things to do. I think snow shoeing is out.. Lol..

I played a ton of ping pong all through my school years..way back then the Manitoba champions came and did a show on the game in the shoppers mall, they were playing against one another while they explained the sport to us all..my ping pong partner at school when we played doubles was with me. The reigning champs asked if anybody wanted to try and play this game against them to see how good the champs really were. They were so impressed with their own game that at first the other player went and sat in with the crowd as his partner served to me...they said no way we would be able to return a serve..I returned all 5 of his serves giving us a 5 point lead..his partner came running down out of the crowd and joined the game. My partner and I schooled them both and won against the Manitoba champs in front of a huge crowd of folks cheering us on...so ya, I played it a lot and still do from time to time..I'm much slower but can still get the ball moving.
Hey Ken...ill be your huckleberry anytime! Lol

That's awsome!!!

Love it.

I am too old and too slow to be any good anymore, but I am going to give it a damn good try. Besides I don't want my wife to be right, and have it end up like the snooker table was; a folding table for laundry lol

Running. On the treadmill at work when it’s real cold, outside as much as possible.
