Ah I get it, it's a 2 part video. The whole part 2 while he is eating him the poor deer is still kicking. Nature can be cruel.

I didn't think a lynx would kill a deer. Very interesting.

Default lynx

Lynx are very aggressive hunters, some recent video from NE Alberta showed a lynx jumping and pulling a low flying mallard duck right out of the air. Saw another one of lynx chasing squirrel through top of poplar trees by Drayton Valley.

from the video comments:

Yep, it killed the deer. I have pics on our Facebook page. But I'm guessing it took quite a while and it would have had to get to get to the throat. Don't think a Lynx could sever the spine. Also, the deer had been previously injured by a vehicle from what I understand. The lynx was in a standoff with the deer for 8 hours apparently before it made this move.

there is a video on the same page of a Lynx taking down a fawn....But a health fully grown Deer I think not but hunger is a pretty big motivator..or motherhood.

In this country bobcats take a lot of deer. Bobcats are heavier than Lynx which I'm sure helps. During deep snow winters like this one our deer yard up in spruce bogs and the bobcats do well on them, big deer or small.
