Default Range day at milo

Great facility! Nice way to spend a morning checking the zero at 100 and then out to 300. Couple of guys let me shoot some pistol as well....me thinks I need to get my restricted now and pick up a S&w wheel gun as well as a kimber 1911

Looks like a nice facility! I do load development testing at the range but shoot long range/plink on private land.

FYI the range rules say that photographing is prohibited.

They have a few different disiplines of rifle competition PRS being one of them. If you want to shoot BR there just join up and start a league.

Bench pics are at the 300-500m range. Not a lot of sks fire going on there. Mind you, the 100-200 is pretty clean too.

may look into it for next year unless we go more silhoette. a score league like lethbridge shoots would be fun.
i understood the membership is full; is that true?

It fills up fast every year so you have to get your application in right away at renewal time. They do it online now which makes it really easy. Sign up is usually in january if i remember correctly. Watch the club website for sign up day.

If you have the 2017 Range Rules clarification info it's a very large paragraph on the topic of posting pictures on social media.

Commercial photography video only!!. WTH!! can't we spread the joy about a fine facility without getting bent out of shape. Read the rules again and retract your post.

That's an odd rule, I would want to promote such a shooting establishment, looks very nice so why not share it with others to spark interest to get more involved.
Ok I see so get the permission then show all the nice range. Fair enough.

If you read the rules carefully it says that commercial video/photography is not allowed without talking to the exec. This makes sense as the club is not making money on someone making money at the club.

I have been to events and seen events where members of the exec are taking pictures for posting on social media etc.

It is a great facility, very clean, well run, and not very busy.

to play the devils advocate it goes on to say OR post of same on social media site. I'm not a member but the rules seem clear to me. I wouldn't test it. I'm assuming all it takes is for one bonehead to post a bad pic while on the range and it looks bad for the community as a whole. That is why I'm guessing they have this rule to begin with. this is clearly not the case hear but its still appears to be in violation of the rule. I'd contact the range admin and get permission then its all good. Mind you it does say video and not photo. might want to ask for clarification.

They do make it not easy to interpret but you have the answer in your post.

Saying or post the same ties it to commercial activity, the same being commercial videos/photography. Reading legalese is always annoying.

The VP rifle took a drone video at my last match so I am not too worried about this. You can also find 3gun videos from CDTSA all over youtube and CGN.

However, if you were to take a video of you doing something at the club that is dumb and the exec saw it, I would expect there to be ramifications.

I just wish the moron that decided to shoot the 300m gong hanger at Milo and the resin chair at Shepard had taken videos and posted them.
