Default Catch can

Recently bought an 2012 F150 with an ecoboost engine, thinking of installing a catch can. Anyone run one ? How does it perform here in Alberta ?
Thinking of this one http://teamrxp.com/products/original...ctory-fittings

What the heck does it catch?

Got a 2010 F150, 5.4L motor...no issues to date so what does this can do? Cow call while waiting for sunrise

Default Catch can

Catches the blow-by/oil, keeps your intake from getting slimy and valves from getting crud baked on them. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to put one on the truck if you're working the engine hard

Crap, you would think that if it was an issue that they would install this at the factory, is this for all engines?

I know catch cans have been popular in the VW/Audi turbo engine aftermarket for at least a decade, I would imagine the same is the case for other makes of forced induction engines and their aftermarket. I'll go out on a limb and guess that manufacturers don't choose to install them based on the fact that such problems typically don't turn up until after warranty, they do after all need to sell overpriced replacement parts as part of their business model.

Guys have been installing them on Harley Davidson engines for years.

Instead of the pressure created internally being expelled into the intake of the throttle body t is routed to either atmosphere (ground) or a catch can.

The EPA frowns upon this method and in the State of California it can result in fines to those owners of M/C's.

If warranty and the EPA are of a concern to you then this isnt the way to run your truck.
But, if you like to fiddle fart around then have at 'er.

I installed one on my 2013 Ram it has been on since new. It is amazing how much "gunk" it collects between oil changes. I'm much happier knowing it isn't bogging down the intake manifold.
